    Learn-To-Row

Come join us! Rowing is a challenging sport, which combines good exercise with the camaraderie of being on a team. At Maritime Rowing Club, our Learn-to-Row program consists of two levels. Level I is an introductory course, where you will learn the basics of rowing in eight 1 1/2 hour lessons. Water safety, basic skills, rules of navigation and general rowing fitness are all covered in this course.

learn2rowLevel II is a continuation of Level I. You'll learn basic boat rigging, advanced rowing techniques, and additional exercise for good rowing fitness. Water safety and navigation are reviewed as well.

Lessons may be conducted on a group or semi-private basis. We are very flexible and can adapt the program to meet your personal schedule.

Learn-to-Row students may be intermingled with more experienced rowers as they progress. After completing the Learn-to-Row program, they will row with the experienced rowers and can choose either a competitive or recreational program.

If you are thinking about rowing in the spring, you might consider joining us for Winter Training. Our indoor training facility houses a wide range of exercise equipment, including Cybex weight machines, treadmills, StairMaster, and erg machines.

At the Maritime Rowing Club, there is no initiation fee. If you decide to join our club after you've taken a Learn-to-Row course, we'll credit the Learn-to-Row fee toward your membership. The Learn-to-Row fees may be applied two times toward your annual membership fee.
