JUNIOR ROWING PROGRAM
The Maritime Rowing Club has a large and active
junior rowing program, which includes both middle and high school students.
Maritime Rowing is home to the New Canaan High School Crew, the Saxe Middle
School Crew, the St. Luke?s School Crew and the Maritime Rowing Team. The junior rowing program is
organized into the Fall Scholastic Rowing Program, Winter Training, and the
Spring Scholastic Rowing Program. The Fall Scholastic Rowing Program runs
from September through mid-November. Winter Training runs from mid-November
through the end of March. The Spring Scholastic Rowing Program occurs from April
to June.
Additionally, the Maritime Rowing Club offers Summer Junior Rowing Camps and weekend recreational rowing classes which provide a non-competitive introduction to rowing for middle and high school students.
The Maritime Rowing program is open to any athlete who wants to join. There are several competitive rowing opportunities within the program:

- Training and development requires additional time. Practice is held 6 days/week, 2-2 ? hours/day in season. Rowers should be mindful of other commitments (e.g. SATs, Prom, family obligations) and their impact on training and competing.
- Boats will be configured at the discretion of the coaches.
- Boats may be comprised of students from multiple schools, but all students must be affiliated with Maritime Rowing Club through one of its scholastic programs. Once a boat is assigned an affiliation, a rower will not switch his/her affiliation during the season.
